Trauma-informed healing, guided by grace and grounded in truth.

A calm, steady space for adults, teens, students, and couples ready to do meaningful work — at a pace that honors your story.

Heidi Johnsen, Licensed Associate Counselor

I’m Heidi.

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor with undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and graduate degrees from Point Loma Nazarene University (MA) and Grand Canyon University (MS).

My work with individuals, families, and students through trauma and transition shaped a lasting commitment to trauma-informed, faith-integrated care — offered with warmth, attunement, and respect for each person’s pace.

As a former college athlete, I understand the unique pressures athletes carry through performance, identity, and life after sport. I welcome clients from athletic backgrounds as part of a broader practice serving adults, adolescents, teens, college students, premarital couples, and couples seeking support.

I practice as a proud affiliate of Christian Counseling Services, serving clients in North Scottsdale, Anthem, Cave Creek, and via telehealth.

LAC · Arizona EMDRIA-trained EMDR Attachment-based CBT & DBT Faith-integrated when requested

Kindness, steadiness, and room to tell the truth.

Clients can expect a calm presence and a space to explore hard things without pressure or judgment. Healing is not hurried here. Faith is integrated when you ask for it — never imposed.

Trauma-informed

Safety, choice, and pacing come first. We honor what the nervous system can hold and build capacity before we go deeper.

Attachment-based

Relational patterns, early wounds, and the need for a secure base are treated as central in the work of change.

Faith-integrated

For clients who desire it, faith is welcomed as a source of meaning, courage, and hope.

Helping the brain finish what trauma interrupted.

EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to process distressing experiences through guided bilateral stimulation — eye movements, tapping, or sound.

The work can reduce emotional intensity, loosen stuck beliefs, and make room for clearer, kinder connections to self and others.

Heidi offers EMDR with warmth and close attention to pace, pairing clinical precision with a steady therapeutic relationship.

Where the work often lives.

Somatic awareness and strengths-based care sit underneath every focus area. Your story sets the agenda. Your pace sets the tempo.
